Browse as you do. Shield speaks up when it matters.
It warns you about scams and fake bank pages, keeps trackers out, and pauses a form before sensitive data goes somewhere risky. The rest of the time it stays out of your way.
Protection ring demonstration
Try it: switch a layer off and the ring shows what you'd give up.
Four layers, each one yours to adjust
Safe browsing
Checks new sites as you open them. A scam page or a look-alike bank site gets a warning with the reason, and the real address when it imitates one. Known malware is blocked outright.
Trackers and cookies
Blocks advertising and cross-site trackers, removes tracking codes such as fbclid from links, and clears tracking cookies. A report for each page shows what was stopped.
Data guard
Asks before card numbers, ID numbers, one-time codes or passwords go to a flagged page, an unencrypted one, or a form that posts to a different site. It checks on your device and never sees what you typed.
Password safety
Tells you when a password has appeared in known breaches, without sending the password anywhere. Optionally warns when you reuse one across sites.
What it asks to see, and what leaves your device
| What | Where it goes | When |
|---|---|---|
| The address of a site you open (never the path or query) | Praise's server, and its AI model | Only for sites without a saved verdict |
| That a warning was shown, and the kind of data involved | Praise's server | After each warning |
| The first 5 characters of a scrambled copy of a password | Have I Been Pwned | When breach checking is on |
What you type, the full scrambled copy of a password, cookie contents, and page paths never leave your device. Every permission is explained in the project's documentation.
Honest limits, and who is in control
What it can't do
- It only sees the browser it's installed in.
- A form that sends data with a script, rather than a normal submit, can't be intercepted, and forms inside embedded frames aren't watched.
- The AI can be wrong. A scam page with no obvious signs can look fine until a reviewer catches it.
You're in charge
- Pause it for an hour or until tomorrow from the toolbar.
- Choose what to warn about, block or clean up, one setting at a time.
- Continue past any warning except known malware.
- Browsing history is deleted after 90 days.
